| Coupling nuts are also known as extension nuts, which are threaded fasteners that are used to join two threaded rods. These nuts feature a hexagonal exterior, which allows for secure tightening and loosening with an installation tool. Coupling nuts are also available as reducing coupling nuts that have two different thread sizes and profiles. Hex Coupling Nuts or Hex Spacers are long nuts, generally 3 times the size of the nut and are used to connect any two threaded fasteners, such as threaded rod. Coupling nuts are made from either stainless or mild steel and are available in different lengths and diameter sizes. Coupling nuts are widely used in the assembly of electromechanical and light industrial products, such as in the field of aviation, railways, refrigeration, instruments, elevators, switches, furniture and decoration. |

When used with a threaded rod, a coupling nut connects two piece threaded rods together from opposite ends for hanging various items vertically or horizontally.
1. With their internal threading, coupling nuts can connect two parts with external threading.
2. Coupling nuts have a threaded interior.
3. Twist the end of a threaded rod or pipe into a coupling nut. The external threading of the rod or pipe will grip the interior threading of the coupling nut.
